Who says papers are dead?

In recent years many agents have moved away from paper advertising, preferring to put all their eggs in one basket with property portals like RightMove. There is no doubting the power of these portals, how they have transformed the market and the ability to get properties moving. How easy is it to search for a flat during your bosses’ lunchtime on your phone? However, not everyone is like this.

At Martin & Wheatley we invest heavily in print advertising on both paper and glossy magazines. Most importantly for us and our market we have a regular front page and full inside page adverts in the tried and trusted MoveTo property paper. We believe there is still a great strength in a publication 100% focused on local property that comes through your door every week, getting right to the heart of your market. Flicking through a property paper gives people the ability to window shop prices and styles they may not have previously done when having to input strict search parameters in a portal. This is a vital part of marketing, I can’t remember the number of times someone has come in looking for a 2 bed cottage only to end up with a 3 bed flat. And lets face it, who doesn’t want to see their house professionally photographed and featured on the front page of a paper and who hasn’t flicked through property adverts dreaming of living in one of the homes. Traditional methods work.

Every client is different, every customer is different, that is why at Martin & Wheatley we advertise not just in the property portals but in magazines, papers, social media plus of course the good old fashioned method of picking up the phone! Its always worth checking with your agent to make sure they have you exposed to the full market place.
